Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie booked for ADCC weekend (Aug. 28-30) in Sao Paulo, Brazil

It’s official.

The Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) Submission Wrestling World Championship is locked and loaded for Sao Paulo, Brazil, from Aug. 28-30, 2015, according to Graciemag (via MMA Fighting) and will include the previously announced “super fight” between former UFC rivals Matt Hughes and Renzo Gracie.

Hughes defeated Gracie via technical knockout back in 2010.

Expected to compete are Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles, Kron Gracie, Romulo Barral, Joao Assis, Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida, Michelle Nicolini, Gabi Garcia, and Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, among others, the latter of which will face off against Andre Galvao.

In addition, American Top Team (ATT) coach Ricardo Liborio battles PRIDE veteran Mario Sperry.

The world’s most prestigious submission fighting tournament (sorry, Metamoris), held every two years in various locations around the globe, was last seen in Oct. 2013 inside the Ditan Gymnasium in Beijing, China (results here). Expect more match ups (with finalized brackets) to be released as the event draws closer.

Stay tuned.
